Negotiation and Conflict Management Skills for Senior Managers of Humanitarian Operations
Working in partnership with the Institute for the Study of International Migration (ISIM) at Georgetown University, USIP offered a two-day seminar as part of ISIM´s training program for managers of humanitarian operations.
Professional Development Training Workshop: Understanding Peace, Humanitarian, and Post-Conflict / Reconstruction Operations
The Institute held two separate workshops for 44 participants for junior and senior military personnel ranging from Third Class Petty Officers (E-4) to Navy Captains and Marine Colonels (O-6).
Negotiation and Conflict Resolution Workshop for Iraqi Women: Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE)
Anne Henderson of the USIP Professional Training Program offered a one-day conflict management seminar for participants in a program for visiting Iraqi women. The program was sponsored by the Women's Alliance for a Free and Democratic Iraq and the Iraqi Women's Caucus.
Negotiation and Diplomatic Skills, DTRA
Ted Feifer of the Professional Training Program led USIP's first workshop for the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) at European Command in Darmstadt, Germany, July 12-14, 2004. DTRA is deployed worldwide to play a key role in U.S. efforts to in address the threat of weapons of mass destruction.
Advanced Third Party Skills Training for the OSCE
Ted Feifer of the Professional Training Program conducted an advanced third party skills workshop for the OSCE Spillover Monitor Mission to Skopje, July 8-10, 2004. Mission members play an important role in OSCE support for implementation of the 2001 Ohrid Agreement, which largely ended interethnic fighting.
Fourth Workshop with Senior Iraqi National Security Officials
The fourth USIP workshop was the largest yet; 57 Iraqis trained with the Institute. Many were Defense Ministry officials or military officers who had just completed a week of training at the National Defense University (NDU)´s Near East - South Asia Center for Strategic Studies (NESA) on the fundamentals of running an effective ministry and on civil/military relations in a democratic society characterized by the rule of law.

Dealing with Conflict and Crisis: International Conflict Management Seminar for Leaders
The Institute, in partnership with the Inter-American Defense College and the Organization of American States' Unit for the Promotion of Democracy, held a seminar at Ft. McNair, Washington, DC for seventy-five senior government officials and military officers, including fifty-five students of the IADC.
Negotiation and Third Party Skills Training for Kosovo Municipal Officials
Ted Feifer of the Professional Training Program conducted a workshop for 26 Kosovo municipal officials May 26-28, 2004.
International Conflict Workshop (PP-519)
The Institute, in partnership with the United States Department of State´s Foreign Service Institute (FSI), conducted a four-day training seminar entitled the "International Conflict Workshop (PP-519)." This was the Institute´s fifth time working with FSI on this course.
