Ancestral Domain in Comparative Perspective
Philippines Facilitation Project
The Philippine Facilitation Project held a two-day workshop, May 24-27, 2005, at Eden Nature Resort in Davao City, Philippines.
Representatives from the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) exchanged experiences and approaches with participants from Canada, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Sudan, New Zealand, Australia, and the United States on how to resolve ancestral domain issues of land claims, natural resources, and governance.
Side meetings and informal conversations provided opportunities for the participants to explore new ways of ending long standing conflicts.
