(Washington) – The U.S. Institute of Peace ranks as the number two government-affiliated think tank in the world, according to the 2013 Global Go To Think Tank Index, set for official release this week. USIP also earned distinctions on the Index’s lists for best U.S. think tanks, global think tanks on defense and national security, and for best conferences.

Former National Security Advisor to Chair United States Institute of Peace Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of the U.S. Institute of Peace today elected Stephen J. Hadley, President George W. Bush's national security advisor, as their new chairman, USIP announced today.
