DIILS in Newport, Rhode Island brings military officers from countries across the world attend a multi-month course in peacekeeping support operations. The class is diverse in gender, rank (Lieutenant to General) and countries (Argentina to Egypt, Gambia to India, Mexico to Romania, Spain to Thailand).
For over three years DIILS has asked the USIP Training program to give four-day workshop to the DIILS class. The workshop delivers to military personnel the skills needed for successful maneuvering in peacekeeping and complex emergency environments. The training workshops improve their ability to problem-solve and collaborate with civilian organizations and individuals in their designated battle spaces.
The course looks to address how military personnel can facilitate smoother relations and more competent execution of operations whenever civilians and military must cooperate to complete these complex type of missions.
