(Washington) – The United States Institute of Peace (USIP) remains committed to promoting peace and stability in Afghanistan. Since 2002, the Institute has piloted innovative projects, including work with district-level dispute resolution commissions and in-depth research and analysis on political reconciliation, while emphasizing teaching and training efforts through support to Afghan-NGOs.
With the creation of a permanent office in Kabul in 2008, USIP has greatly increased its contact with and understanding of events, programs, and attitudes in Afghanistan, and has strengthened its capacity to execute innovative and effective programs in the country.
