(Washington) – Peter Loge, an experienced strategic communications and legislative professional, has been named vice president for external relations for the U. S. Institute of Peace, the Institute announced today.  Loge will lead the outreach and public communications strategy of the Institute and will oversee the public affairs, public outreach, congressional affairs, and intergovernmental affairs portfolios.

“With more than two decades of experience, Peter will enhance the Institute’s ability to play a lead role in the conversation about the intersection of peacebuilding and national security,” said USIP President Jim Marshall.

Loge comes to the Institute with more than 20 years of experience in communications and legislative strategy. Loge has extensive expertise in both communications and political strategy, including serving as the chief of staff, communications director, and campaign manager for U.S. Representative Brad Sherman (D-CA); director of constituent services for former U.S. Representative Sam Coppersmith (D-AZ); and deputy to the chief of staff for the late Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA).
