USIP Experts Available for Comment on Sudan

In advance of the anticipated elections in Sudan on April 11-13, the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) offers experts for comment. Several USIP staffers travel throughout northern and southern Sudan on a regular basis to work with local groups and government officials.

(Washington) – In advance of the anticipated elections in Sudan on April 11-13, the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) offers experts for comment. Several USIP staffers travel throughout northern and southern Sudan on a regular basis to work with local groups and government officials.

Jonathan Temin, senior program officer
Temin traveled to Sudan four times in the past year and can discuss nearly all aspects of the election process, post-election issues and US policy towards Sudan.

Andrew Blum, senior program officer
Blum is available for comment on the role of civil society in Sudan. He manages USIP’s grants in Sudan which have totaled almost $1.5 million since 2006.

The following USIP experts are currently on the ground in Sudan with the Carter Center Election Observation Mission. They will have limited access to e-mail and cannot comment directly on the status of the election while on the ground, but they return to Washington, D.C. following the elections.
