Five Years After the U.S. Intervention: Pamela Constable on Afghanistan's Progress
A public meeting of the Afghanistan Working Group
This is the second session of a four-part series leading to the fifth anniversary of the fall of the Taliban.
The Taliban, drug traffickers, local warlords, cross-border insurgents, and other anti-government forces are exploiting the weaknesses of Afghanistan's central government and threatening the achievements of the last five years.
USIP will host Pamela Constable, deputy foreign editor of the Washington Post, to discuss Afghanistan's progress five years after the fall of the Taliban. Constable's insightful reporting on Afghanistan began in 1999 as the Washington Post’s South Asia bureau chief and continued through her assignment as Kabul Bureau Chief from 2002 to 2004. Today, Constable provides regular dispatches from frequent trips throughout Afghanistan.
