Young people have an important role to play as current and future peacebuilders. The U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) is committed to increasing the knowledge and skills of young people so that they understand how conflicts are resolved, peace is achieved and how they can make a difference. In this section students will find some resources and ideas to help them become better informed on issues of peace and conflict, and to help them engage in peacebuilding initiatives. Learn more about the resources USIP offers for students with this fact sheet.
USIP’s Peace Club Starter Kit provides a simple framework for students to get organized, get active, and get the word out about peacebuilding. Young people can set their own goals and identify their own ways to directly engage on issues that are important to them.
Contests for Students
USIP co-sponsors three national contests that inspire students to think critically about peace and conflict; each offers a great annual prize for the winner, and other opportunities for runners-up!
Resources for Students
USIP has developed a range of additional resources for students to help support their engagement as peacebuilders now and in the future.
