NATO Transformed
Institute book named "Outstanding Academic Book" by the journal CHOICE.
WASHINGTON--NATO Transformed: The Alliance's New Roles in International Security has recently been named an "Outstanding Academic Book," by CHOICE, the highly respected library review journal produced by the Association of College and Research Libraries. Written by former Institute fellow David S. Yost and published by USIP Press, the book examines the tough challenges facing the NATO alliance in a post-Cold War world order and its potential new role in bringing stability to Eastern Europe.
According to the Times Literary Supplement: "NATO embarked on the task of reinventing itself, and it is this process of regeneration which David S. Yost examines in his timely book on the alliance. A professor of International Relations at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, Yost put together this superior analysis during his term as a senior fellow at the United States Institute of Peace. Published on the eve of the Alliance's fiftieth anniversary, NATO Transformed is now also a vital handbook for assessing the consequences of NATO's massive intervention in the Balkans."
NATO Transformed was published by USIP Press in 1999. The book's developmental editor was Peter Pavilionis. Copies of NATO Transformed are available for $19.95 (paperback, ISBN 1-878379-81-X) from USIP Press at 1-800-868-8064 (U.S. toll free) or (703) 661-1590.
