Everywhere in the world, people communicate about violent incidents. From word-of-mouth rumor mills to remote sensing satellite imagery, a communication ecosystem always emerges to disseminate information about violence. The focus of the first solicitation, entitled Violence, Information and Peacebuilding, is to improve our ability to impact the communication ecosystems that are created by violent conflict in ways that create more positive peacebuilding outcomes and that help to undermine escalatory dynamics. Concept notes under the Call for Proposals are due on April 1, 2011.
