In commemoration of Memorial Day, USIP President Richard H. Solomon releases the following statement:
"The U.S. Institute of Peace honors those who have died in our nation’s service.
Memorial Day is an important opportunity to recognize our patriotic heroes who have sacrificed their lives so that we may all breathe the air of freedom.
USIP works closely with the Department of Defense, and other government agencies, to support U.S. military personnel through our training programs, by developing conflict management capacity at home and abroad, and through our broader efforts to prevent conflict from escalating into deadly violence. We are privileged to support our military men and women to enhance national security and promote the peaceful resolution of international conflicts."
