Practitioner Courses

  • USIP's Academy offers two dozen practitioner courses. These courses prepare professionals for in the field work and teach a variety of issue areas found in today's conflict zones. The courses are organized and mostly taught at the Institute's headquarters in Washington, DC. | Learn more

Workshops and Training in Zones of Conflict

  • Training and workshops are run for government and military personnel, civil society leaders, and NGO and IO staff. Read more about the Academy's In the Field Activities. 

Online Courses and Simulations

  • The Academy Online will launch a suite of self-paced and instructor-led online courses developed by peacebuilding and conflict management experts. Stay tuned! Learn about the Academy's current online courses and simulations, including SENSE and Open Simulation Platform (OSP).

Educating the Next Generation of Leaders

  • The National Peace Essay Contest (NPEC) encourages U.S. high school students to explore the world of international peacebuilding. In addition to the essay contest, the Academy creates materials to prepare high school and college students for a career in Peacebuilding.
