Liz Callihan joined USIP in April 2012 and is currently the acting director of the communications team. She provides leadership, planning, and execution for the Institute's strategic communications, including oversight of traditional and social media, editorial content, events, multimedia, and digital strategies.
Prior to coming to USIP, she worked as an independent communications consultant for 15 years after serving as vice president of operations for the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals for six years. She is currently a member of the Maryland NOW board of directors. Previously she served on the Montgomery County Commission for Women, an advisory board to, and a department of, county government.
Ms. Callihan earned her bachelor's in American history, with a concentration in African-American history, from Boston University.
