Lieutenant Colonel Chris Curtin is an active duty United States marine assigned to the United States Institute of Peace as a commandant of the marine corps fellow. Lieutenant Colonel Curtin is a field artillery officer with 22 years of service and has commanded at both the company and battalion level. Prior to arriving at USIP Lieutenant Colonel Curtin was an action officer with Pacific Division, Plans Policies & Operations, Headquarters United States Marine Corps. He has deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan as well as Okinawa Japan and the EUCOM/AFRICOM areas of responsibility.  Lieutenant Colonel Curtin holds a BA in History from Norwich University, an MA in National Security Affairs and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College and an MA in Management and Leadership from Webster University. He also possesses the additional qualification as a foreign security force advisor.
