Mission Zhobia
Approximately 1.4 billion people live in countries that suffer from conflict and turmoil and peacebuilding remains one of the world’s biggest challenges. Peacebuilding practitioners are well steeped in their technical field of expertise, but are much less well trained in maneuvering through complex socio-political realities. This game serves as a safe space in which practitioners can practice their competencies in a virtual environment.
Negotiation: Micro-Course
This micro-course defines negotiation and describes the two main components of any negotiation process. It also presents five different conflict styles that can be expressed in a negotiation and explains how these different styles can be applied given the context in which a negotiation is taking place.
Negotiation: Shaping the Conflict Landscape
This course will help you develop effective negotiating strategies by exploring topics such as hard-bargaining vs. problem-solving approaches, interests vs. positions, coercive leverage vs. normative leverage, short-term agreements vs. long-term relationships, as well as the many ways in which culture affects attitudes and behaviors, and the complexities of multi-party negotiation. Participants will learn how to plan and prepare for a negotiation as well as useful tactics they can employ now. This course is designed to be of value for professionals in situations ranging from policy coordination to crisis negotiations to high-level diplomatic encounters.
Nonviolent Action: Micro-Course
