Shira Lowinger has served as the Program Specialist for the Jennings Randolph Fellowship Program at the United States Institute of Peace since 2005. In this capacity, she is the Manager of the Research Assistants and the Coordinator of Fellowship program activities and competitions. Previously, she worked as the Communications Coordinator in Marketing for Venable LLP. She has held Human Resources and Personnel positions at McKee Nelson LLP, Debevoise and Plimpton LLP and has interned at the International Technology and Trade Associates and the Eisenhower Institute.
Ms. Lowinger holds an M.A. in International Politics from the School of International Service at American University. She specialized in international security with a particular emphasis on issues related to human security and humanitarian intervention. She has a B.A. from Syracuse University in both International Relations and Psychology, and is fluent in Spanish.
