Sandra Pogodda joined USIP as a Transatlantic Post-Doc Fellow for International Relations and Security (TAPIR). Prior to USIP, her post-doc took her to Chatham House in London and the Center for Transatlantic Relations (SAIS /Johns Hopkins University) in Washington.

She specializes in international negotiations and Western Middle East policies. Her current research focuses on Hamas, Hezbollah and transatlantic cooperation in the Middle East. From 2004 to 2007 she was a Marie Curie Fellow at the Centre for International Studies at the University of Cambridge working on political and economic reform failure in the Arab World. In 2006 she worked as a consultant for the World Bank Office Khartoum in the Darfur Joint Assessment Mission.

She has recently completed her Ph.D. in International Relations at the University of Cambridge (UK) and holds Masters degrees in Political Science and European Studies.
