Background
Heather Kerr-Stewart is a program officer in the Institute's
Education Program, where she manages the National Peace Essay
Contest--a program designed to involve students and teachers in
international issues. Before joining the Institute, Kerr-Stewart
worked with international exchange students from the former Soviet
Union at the Meridian International Center. In addition to her work
with the Institute's National Peace Essay Contest, she assists the
American Foreign Service Association in the ongoing development and
implementation of its essay contest for high school students across
the United States.
Kerr-Stewart holds an M.A. in public and international affairs from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.A. in international relations from West Virginia Wesleyan College. She also attended the London School of Economics where she participated in an economic field study of Latvia, Russia, and Ukraine.
