Episode 1

Meet Taban, Rose, Winnie and Richard, four youth with different personalities and ambitions, each faced with unique challenges as they grow up in South Sudan. While Rose tries to hold on to her dreams, she finds she is being married off to an older man. Winnie, who just returned from America, learns just how different living in South Sudan is when her teacher embarrasses her in front of the entire school. Richard's father, the Police Commissioner, tells him he needs to make better use of his time and therefore has a surprise for him.

Episode 2

The drama continues in this episode of Sawa Shabab. Taban's family is low on money and he thinks he has figured out a way to make cash to buy his sister a new school uniform. Richard discovers he is going to be a policeman thanks to his father's influence, while Rose tries to resist her mother's urging that she focus on house duties as preparation for her future marriage.

Episode 3

In this episode of Sawa Shabab, the school principal, Mary, questions Winnie about Mr. James cutting her hair in school. Taban puts himself in a difficult position trying to impress his new best friend, Richard. Rose presents her monologue to the school about the importance of following your dreams.   

Episode 4

In this action-packed episode, Rose is still upset about the arranged marriage, and things get worse when she is harassed by teacher James. Winnie applies for a national ID but experiences problems, and Richard has to explain to his stepmother why he is a policeman without going through any training.

Episode 5

The Sawa Shabab youth face even more challenges in this episode. Richard is threatened by an unknown person by text message. Rose considers telling Ms. Mary about Mr. James harassing her after she confides in Winnie. Rose and Choo Choo establish their rivalry by competing in the school talent show.

Episode 6

In this episode, Rose thinks she's found a brilliant idea to stop her mother from marrying her off to an older man. At the school basketball game, Taban and Tony vie for Winnie's attention. Rose finds out if she qualified for the school talent show, and then she confronts Winnie about her relationship with Tony.

Episode 7

The excitement builds in this episode of Sawa Shabab as Teacher James taunts Rose with information about a National Talent Show. Richard's mistakes prevent a fellow officer from solving a case. Taban agrees to help Rose with her monologue presentation, but then he is distracted by Richard from reaching his goal of selling 100 eggs. Winnie asks Tony to teach her how to dribble a basketball and is surprised by his response, and Daniel confronts Richard about how he unfairly took Daniel's place on the police squad.

Episode 8

In this episode, Suzan finds out about Rose's plot to convince her mother that she would not be a good wife.  Taban struggles with how much money his family needs to raise. He later makes a bad decision in order to get some cash for news clothes that he hopes can impress Winnie. Winnie realizes Rose's warnings about Tony were valid, but has Winnie's interest in Tony already damaged her friendship with Rose?

Episode 9

In this episode, Winnie convinces Richard that she can contribute to building a better, peaceful nation and finally gets her National ID card. Choo Choo sings a song about what it means to be South Sudanese. Rose finds out that Taban has crush on Winnie and he asks for her help in ‘Winnie-ing’ her over, and Taban asks his mother what happened to his father but she can’t bring herself to tell him what happened.

Episode 10

In this episode, Winnie encourages Rose to discuss her experience with Teacher James. Richard comes close to ruining an undercover operation. Winnie tells Taban he should impress Rose by telling her funny jokes to make her laugh. Rose surprises everyone by changing her monologue at the last minute to tell people about Mr. James harassing her. Taban’s mother and sister start asking questions about the money that is missing from the house.

Episode 11

The drama continues in this episode as Taban learns that his father chose his tribe over his family. Rose’s mother is determined to take her out of school and Ms. Mary dismisses Rose’s claims of harassment while Mr. James threatens that he will ruin Rose's’chances at becoming an actress. Taban tries to impress Winnie with his jokes but only gets an ‘E’ for effort. Richard tells Taban he hasn’t done anything wrong in stealing money from his mother. Winnie decides to sign up for the student union and has an interesting idea for the students to learn about each other’s cultures.

Episode 12

In this action packed episode, Ms. Mary rejects Winnie’s idea to showcase traditional jewelry. Suzan tries to convince Margaret to attend the talent show to see how passionate Rose is about acting. Taban decides whether or not to tell the truth to his mother about stealing her money. Richard gets promoted to Captain by his father, and the talent show beings with ChoCho hit song as Rose waits offstage to give her monologue.

Episode 13

The long awaited talent show continues, and Rose gives her heartfelt monologue with her mother in the audience. Mr. James announces ChoCho as the winner of the talent show, but ChoCho uses her mobile to show that he cheated the scores and a new winner is announced. Rose’s mother has a change of heart and makes a deal with Rose. Taban confesses to his mother and decides to visit his father in the village with a friend to accompany him, much to the chagrin of Rose.

Episode 14

Family tensions come to a head in this episode. After Ms. Mary bans the student union from wearing traditional jewelry, ChoCho encourages Winnie not to give up. Taban and ChoCho travel to see Taban’s father in the village, but the visit is not what he thought it would be. Richard and his father get into a fight and he learns from he only received his promotion because of his family connections.
