Fen Osler Hampson is professor of international affairs and associate director of the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada. He is the author of Nurturing Peace: Why Peace Settlements Succeed or Fail (United States Institute of Peace Press, 1996); Multilateral Negotiations: Lessons from Arms Control, Trade, and the Environment; Unguided Missiles: How America Buys Its Weapons; and Forming Economic Policy: The Case of Energy in Canada and Mexico, and the editor or co-editor of eleven volumes, including Earthly Goods: Environmental Change and Social Justice. Hampson was a peace fellow at the United States Institute of Peace in 1993-1994.
