• African Union
  Successor organization to the Organization of African Unity (OAU), the African Union's web site has news and events, documents, a listing of member states and related web links. A representative of the former OAU witnessed the signing of the Ceasefire Agreement in July 1999.

Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)

• Permanent Mission of the Democratic Republic of the Congo at the United Nations in New York
  In English and French, the web site offers news on the Democratic Republic of Congo, archived press releases, a map, history, and links to related web sites.

International Court of Justice (ICJ)

• International Court of Justice (ICJ), Cour internationale de Justice
  Web site of the ICJ, in English and French, contains general information about the court, basic documents, publications, decisions, the court docket, some unpublished pleadings, other relevant information and search capability. It includes the latest developments on Armed Activities on the Territory of the Congo (Democratic Republic of the Congo v. Uganda, a case brought before the court by the DRC on June 20, 2000.

  The Crisis Group web site provides breaking news and has an overview of its Democratic Republic of Congo project, with links to full-text reports.

South Africa Development Community (SADC)

• Southern African Development Community (SADC)
  Web site of the SADC with a description of the organization, country profiles of each of the fourteen member countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, descriptions of projects, publications and links to related web sites. A representative of the SADC witnessed the signing of the Ceasefire Agreement in July, 1999.

• Integrated Regional Information Network (IRIN): Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
  IRIN, a unit of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), provides a clearinghouse of information for humanitarian and international communities on the crises in sub-Saharan Africa. Its web site contains special reports and news briefs organized by country and region, such as Great Lakes. Includes links to related web sites such as .... An e-mail subscription for IRIN reports is also available.
• MONUC: United Nations Organization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
  The web for this UN peacekeeping mission describes the mission's mandate, background information, with links to press releases, the UN news service, documents, including Security Council Resolutions, maps and photos. Also includes a link to the web site of MONUC mission headquarters in Kinshasa.

  ReliefWeb, a project of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), "is the global hub for time-critical humanitarian information on Complex Emergencies and Natural Disasters."   Web site of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) includes an overview of USAID programs in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), with links to Congressional budget materials, annual report, development strategy and other projects, including the Transition Initiatives program for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Also includes a link to the USAID mission in the DRC.

Peace Agreements and Political Resources

• Ceasefire Agreement
  Full text of the Ceasefire Agreement signed on July 10, 1999 by representatives of Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Namibia, Rwanda, Uganda, and Zimbabwe. On August 1, a representative of the Movement for the Liberation of the Congo signed the agreement. On August 31, 1999, representatives from the Congolese Rally for Democracy (RCD) signed the agreement.
