    An extensive collection of well-annotated links compiled by Karen Fung at Stanford University for the African Studies Association. Includes links to email lists, special projects, databases and archives, articles and documents, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), news and general sources. Organized alphabetically within country listing. The web site also has regional and topical categories of links, as well as a site searching capability.
  • Angola Country Guide
    Annotated web links to resources, agencies and organizations from the U.S. Agency for International Development, organized by general reference, development, government, multilaterals and donors, and news and information.
  • Angola Page
    Annotated links from the African Studies Center at the University of Pennsylvania for Angola. Also includes extensive list of web links organized by topical area.
  • Index on Africa: Countries: Angola
    The web site for Index on Africa, a project of the Norwegian Council for Africa, contains extensive annotated links organized by topical category and country. Also includes news and information pages (under development), and discussion boards. Within each individual country page, links are organized by subject category. Interesting features include the number of links listed for each category, the tabulation of hits on a specific link since it was added to the web page, as well as the opportunity to rate the link. Search capability and a newslist subscription are also available for the web site.

  • Official Web Site of the Republic of Angola
    Hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Angola in Washington, D.C., the web site includes news in English, French and Portuguese; a news center with links to press releases, newsletters, reports, documents, basic facts about Angola, travel; and links to related web sites.

African Union (AU)

United Nations

  • Integrated Regional Information Network (IRIN): Angola
    IRIN, a unit of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), provides a clearinghouse of information for humanitarian and international communities on the crises in sub-Saharan Africa. Its web site contains special reports and news briefs organized by country and region, such as Southern Africa. An e-mail subscription for IRIN reports is also available.
  • Reliefweb: Angola The Latest
    ReliefWeb, a project of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), has the latest news and "humanitarian response information on current emergencies and countries of concern" in its section on complex emergencies. Also includes documents and related links organized by by country, a map center, and site map and search capability. Within country listing, related links include background information and topics such as refugees and IDPs with a link to the Angola page for the Global IDP Project on internally displaced persons.
  • United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA)
    Web site of the UN organization includes links to resources such as reports, press releases, publications, databases; links to related initiatives, programs, a list of member states, ECA partners and other organizational information.
  • Refworld: Angola
    The information management web site for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), called Refworld, has databases for country of origin and legal information documents and reports. Pull-down menus allow selection by country and/or subject and a specific search engine feature is also provided. Each country compilation includes links to country reports, legal documents, news and maps.
  • United Nations Mission of Observers in Angola (MONUA)
    The UN mission's mandate ended February 26, 1999. As of July 1999, the mission is under liquidation. This web page provides background information, links to relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and information on prior UN operations in Angola, a mission profile, and a map of current and completed UN peacekeeping missions.
