"Salam Shabab" (Peace Youth) is the first television program depicting the real life story of Iraqi youth. Iraqis compete in a series of challenges while also learning how to become active peacebuilders in their communities.
Filmed and produced in Iraq, "Salam Shabab" follows 54 Iraqi youth from six different provinces as they produce their own short films, perform on stage, and use teamwork to win sport and mental challenges. The television series is based on a peacebuilding curriculum and is currently airing on a network of Iraqi satellite channels. | Watch Salam Shabab

The Center of Innovation for Media, Conflict, and Peacebuilding has been active in Iraq since 2009. By working with USIP staff in Baghdad and Iraqi media partners, the Center continues to develop innovative ways to use media as a peacebuilding tool. Currently, the Center is developing self-regulatory tools to combat media incitement to violence and engaging Iraqi youth through peace media to empower them to bring positive change to their societies.
