USIP’s Haiti Working Group focuses the attention of Washington policymakers on Haiti. Monthly meetings convene a group of officials, experts, practitioners, and interested members of the public to discuss developments in Haiti and in U.S.-Haitian relations. In 2010, USIP is focusing on supporting the international community’s recovery efforts following the January 12th earthquake.
USIP's Haiti Program is directed by Robert Perito [1]. The Chairman of the Haiti Working Group is Robert Maguire [2], Associate Professor at Trinity Washington University and former USIP Jennings Randolph Senior Fellow.
Through the Working Group, USIP has convened public forums and produced thoughtful publications on Haiti since 2006.
