The Bangsamoro Future: Prospects and Challenges

This USIP-sponsored forum brought together over twenty young Moro leaders, representing different ethno-linguistic groups, to discuss candidly the state of the Moro community and the roles of religion, women, civil society, and entrepreneurship in building a peaceful and prosperous Moro future.

Participants represented a wide array of professions and diverse perspectivies. Their discussion were guided by senior resource persons including a historian, an Islamic scholar, a Moro entrepreneur, a leading Muslim lawyer, and a civil society leader.

The forum sought to strengthen networking and the exchange of ideas among rising Moro leaders, and also elicited ideas for future action to advance peace in Muslim Mindanao.
