Africa in the New International Order: Rethinking State Sovereignty and Regional Security edited by Edmond J. Keller and Donald Rothchild (Lynne Rienner Publishers, 1996)
An assessment of Africa's new role in the post-Cold War global arena and suggestions for building new local, regional, and global institutions and policies to more consistently promote conflict management and economic development on the continent.

Managing Arms in Peace Processes: Somalia by Clement Adibe (United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research, 1995)
A detailed review of the efforts to disarm Somali factions, concluding that policy inconsistency, strategic misconceptions, and faulty resource distribution were the root causes of the failure and offering recommendations to prevent a repeat of this failure.

Ethnic Conflict and Democratization in Africa edited by Harvey Glickman (African Studies Association Press, 1995)
An assessment of how emerging democracies in Africa attempt to eliminate ethno-political expression, with recommendations for managing power that recognize ethnic group politics as the primary and democratic counter-strategy to ethnic and sectional conflict.

Arms Control on the Korean Peninsula by Chung-in Moon (Yonsei University Press, 1996)
A history of arms control efforts on the Korean Peninsula, which explores the political and contextual barriers that have prevented the initiation of serious negotiation on conventional arms control.

The United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC): Debriefing and Lessons edited by Nassrine Azimi (Kluwer Law International, 1995)
A report on a conference organized to assess the effectiveness of the UN peacekeeping and peacebuilding operation in Cambodia and to draw lessons for future UN peacekeeping in other countries.

The Humanitarian Diplomacy of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Conflict in Croatia (1991-1992) by Jean-Francois Berger (International Committee of the Red Cross, 1995)
