On October 17, 2012, LTC William Zemp visited the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) for meetings with experts and to view the new "Witness to Peacebuilding" video, in which he is featured, in the Global Peacebuilding Center. The  video tells the story of a reconciliation initiative in Mahmoudiya, Iraq, in 2007, in which USIP played an important role.

LTC Zemp's story highlights the importance of partnerships in peacebuilding, noting the role played by the U.S. military, the Iraqi military, local Iraqi people including the Network of Iraqi Facilitators trained by USIP, the Department of State, and USIP.
