    USIP Senior Rule of Law Adviser Scott Worden is available to comment on Afghanistan governance and the recent parliamentary elections. Worden was in Afghanistan for the 2010 parliamentary elections as a member of the National Democratic Institute's Observer Mission. He was one of three UN-appointed international members of the 2009 Electoral Complaints Commission in Afghanistan.

    The United States Institute of Peace will launch its first in a series of programs titled "Conversations about War and Peacebuilding" on July 14th in San Francisco.  The series provides occasional dialogues about international affairs and international conflict with high-level guests who bring unique, bipartisan perspectives to the most salient issues of the day, including the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the conflicts brewing in the Middle East and the Korean peninsula.
