USIP traveled to Warsaw, Poland to conduct negotiation skills training for professionals who work on democratic elections, implementation of human-rights commitments, combating of trafficking in human beings, freedom of religion, civil society, rule of law, gender equality, and more, as a part of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.

Senior Program Officers Ted Feifer and Noor Kirdar conducted a specially tailored negotiation and diplomatic skills workshop for OSCE Mission in Kosovo municipal team members in Pristina on April 18-20, 2007. There were 22 participants (12 international and 10 national staff), who currently monitor municipalities in Kosovo on good governance, democratic practices, and human rights issues.

 Ted Feifer led a workshop in advanced negotiation and problem solving for 23 international and national staff members of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, in Pristina December 6-7, 2006. Workshop objectives were to refresh and reinforce negotiation and diplomatic skills, by helping participants become more effective in crucial conversations, understand and manage emotions in negotiations, and strengthen skills in group practical problem-solving.
