June 25, 2012 - June 27, 2012 Trauma and Peacebuilding Learn about the causes and effects of trauma and how this manifests itself in human behavior. Students will learn how to recognize trauma affected behavior and will learn strategies and tools to more effectively work with these populations.
May 21, 2012 - May 25, 2012 Health Care in Post-Conflict and Fragile States Explore the importance of public health in fragile and conflict-affected states and understand how equal access to good health care is a critical component of post-conflict reconstruction and peacebuilding. Analyze short-term delivery of public health in conflict situations as well as long-term development of the public health sector.
March 12, 2012 - March 16, 2012 Stabilization and Peacebuilding: Understanding Dynamic Processes and Making Them Work Provides guiding principles for organizing and implementing post-conflict and stability operations, including the overarching leadership challenges, based on lessons learned from the full range of international interventions and peacebuilding missions.
September 9, 2011 - December 16, 2011 Social Reconstruction and Human Security Explore successful humanitarian assistance and longer-term needs for social well-being and development in fragile states. Analyze the links between social well-being—particularly health, education, environmental protection, and refugee needs—and security, governance, rule of law, and economic development.
