Passing the Baton

On January 8, 2009, the United States Institute of Peace convened Passing the Baton 2009, a remarkable full-day public conference that convened high-level, bipartisan US foreign policy leaders to speak on crucial foreign policy and security issues facing the Obama administration as it transitions into power.

The field of "war-fighting" games is well advanced. The field of "peacebuilding" games is just beginning. To help leverage technology better, and to make simulation training easily accessible to all educators and trainers, USIP has created the Open Simulation Platform (OSP). The USIP OSP guides teachers and trainers through a process to develop realistic and meaningful simulations.

Together with Chinese partners, the institute brings together U.S. and PRC officials for closed discussions on a host of economic, financial, security, and environmental issues.
