Regional Information Network (IRIN): Angola
IRIN, a unit of the United
Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA),
provides a clearinghouse of information for humanitarian and international
communities on the crises in sub-Saharan Africa. Its web site contains
special reports and news briefs organized by country and region,
such as Southern
Africa. An e-mail
subscription for IRIN reports is also available.

Angola The Latest
ReliefWeb, a project
of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian
Affairs (OCHA), has the latest news and "humanitarian response information
on current emergencies and countries of concern" in its section
on complex
emergencies. Also includes documents and related links organized
by by
country, a map
center, and site map and search capability. Within country listing,
related links include background information and topics such as
refugees
and IDPs with a link to the Angola page for the Global

Web site of the UN organization includes links to resources

The information management web site for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
(UNHCR), called Refworld, has databases for country of origin and legal information
documents and reports. Pull-down menus allow selection by country

Nations Mission of Observers in Angola (MONUA)
The UN mission's mandate ended February 26, 1999. As of July 1999,
the mission is under liquidation. This web page provides background
information, links to relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions
and information on prior UN operations in Angola, a mission profile,
and a map of current and completed UN peacekeeping missions.
