The Priority Grant Competition

The Priority Grant program supports non-profit organizations working in or on Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, and Sudan, Arab World Political Transformation, and projects related to the theme of communication and peacebuilding.

The Jennings Randolph Senior Fellowship Program

Jennings Randolph (JR) Senior Fellowships are awarded to scholars, practitioners, policy analysts, and other experts for the opportunity to spend 10 months in residence at the Institute, reflecting and writing on pressing international peace and security challenges. | Read more about current Senior Fellows and their activities.

The Jennings Randolph Peace Scholar Dissertation Program

 The Peace Scholar Dissertation fellowship is a non-residential scholarship awarded to students enrolled at U.S. universities who are writing doctoral dissertations on topics related to peace, conflict, and international security. Each year the program awards approximately ten fellowships. Dissertation projects in all disciplines are welcome. | Read about the 2012-2013 Peace Scholars.

The 2013-2014 Peace Scholar fellowship competition is now CLOSED. The new application for the 2014-2015 competition will be open by late spring, 2013. Please keep checking our website for details. Please note that the deadline for the Peace Scholars competition is Friday, December 31, 2013, COB.

The Transatlantic Post-Doc Fellowship for International Relations and Security (TAPIR) 

The TAPIR is open to candidates who have recently recieved their doctorate in social and political sciences or economics and whose research focuses on topics of international relations and/or international peace and security issues.  Fellowships are granted for a duration of 24 months to prepare Fellows for a career in policy-oriented and international research at renowned think tanks and political consulting research institutes.  Fellows spend three eight-month stays at institutions participating in the program - at least one on the Eastern and one on the Western side of the Atlantic.  The TAPIR fellowship is administered by the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik in Germany. | Visit their website for more information about placements and applying.

Jennings Randolph Military Fellows

Each year, the JR Program welcomes one to two army officers serving in a Senior Service College Fellowship capacity.  Officers selected as fellows at USIP have extensive military experience and/or responsibility for civil-military relations.
