A Rare Conversation with Yemeni Political Opposition Leaders

The United States Institute of Peace (USIP) Yemen Working Group and the National Democratic Institute (NDI) hosted a video-conference with leaders of the Yemeni opposition. This event provided a rare, on-the-record opportunity to hear directly from key opposition figures and engage in a dialogue on the current situation in Yemen.

    Spokesperson for the committee tasked with drafting the "Youth Revolution Document," which outlines the objectives of the youth within the anti-government protest movement.
  • Sheikh Mohammed Abu Lahoum
    Former senior member of the ruling General People's Congress and founding member of a new political party comprised of former GPC moderates.
  • Yassin Noman
    Secretary General of the Yemeni Socialist Party and current Chair of the Supreme Council of the Joint Meeting Parties coalition.
  • Mohammed Qatttan
    Shura Council member of the Yemeni Congregation for Reform (Islah) and current Spokesperson for the Joint Meeting Parties.
