Somalia: Challenges for Renewed Engagement

The conference will examine current developments in Somalia and the possibilities for greater U.S. and international engagement. Speakers will include a variety of Somalia experts from the region itself, distinguished policymakers, humanitarian representatives, and security analysts. Conference panels will include an examination of the current political and security situation, an assessment of humanitarian access and human rights, a roundtable on possibilities for "bottom-up" approaches, and options for U.S. and international engagement.
