Iraq's future depends on its abilities to build a nation that respects the rights and liberties of its citizens while also ensuring Iraq becomes a peaceful partner to its neighbors in a region known for instability. Key to these challenges is the Kurdistan federal region of Iraq, where historical dynamics exert tremendous energy both inside Iraq, and with Iraq's neighbor, Turkey.
