Alabama Luke lives in Birmingham, Alabama and attends Briarwood Christian School. Upon graduation he plans to attend a public four-year university or college. He will have a science based major. Luke's long term plans are to go to medical school and then proceed to law school. He wants to litigate for doctors in malpractice cases. Luke is currently involved in several community service activities including volunteer work at his school and local youth basketball. He has amassed over 100 service hours this past year. Luke received an honorable mention in the 2004 National Peace Essay Contest. In addition, he has the privilege to be a member of the National Honor Society, the National Society of High School Scholars, the Mu Alpha Theta club, and the Briarwood Math Team. Luke has been selected to be in Who's Who Among High Schoolers. [ Back to top ]
Alaska Scott lives in Anchorage, Alaska. When he finishes high school, he plans to continue his education in college most likely majoring in physics. Scott likes to participate in many community activities including Key Club, Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Model United Nations. Scott is also involved in school sports such as tennis, cross-country, and track and field. [ Back to top ]
Arizona Connor is a junior at the University High School in Tucson, Arizona. He enjoys participating on the school's Mock Trial and NCEE Economics Challenge teams, as well as serving as a member of the School Site Council. In his spare time, he is a freelance opinion columnist for the Arizona Daily Star, works as a lifeguard, plays both the trumpet and the tuba, and listens to a lot of indie rock. This year, he was manager of a student-organized campaign to elect a student to the local school board. He has written\produced\directed an independent film, "Pimp My Sandwich," recently released at a local film festival. In the future, he aspires to be a cowboy space pirate fireman, become fabulously wealthy and buy a solid gold helicopter, or maybe just be an intellectual property attorney if the other two don't work out. Arkansas Allyson is a junior at Pulaski Academy in Little Rock, Arkansas. After high school, Allyson plans to attend college. Her academic interests include economics and Spanish. Allyson is on the varsity girl's soccer team and is captain of the cross-country team. She sings in her church choir and plays the flute. She is vice president of her school's Model United Nations Club and is a member of various other clubs. Allyson serves on her school's Honor Council. She enjoys tutoring children once a week at a local elementary school. In the summer, Allyson works at camps for mentally/physically retarded adults. She received the Randolph Macon Book Award, won first place in the Little Rock Federal Reserve Essay Contest, won the Arkansas Game and Fish Best Aquatics and Ricoh Sustainable Development Award, won second place in the Arkansas Math Teachers calculus competition, has been recognized in the first phase of the National Merit competition, and will attend Girls' State this summer. California Ravi lives in Fresno, California. When he finishes high school, he plans to go to a four-year college; however, he is not yet sure of his major. Ravi has volunteered and helped to build houses for Habitat for Humanity. During the school year he helped with children who have lost a parent or relative. Ravi has been MVP of the varsity golf team for several years and is currently the highest ranked player on the team. He has conducted biological research at Fresno State University for several months and was awarded second place in the Medicine and Health Division of the Central California Science Fair. Colorado Jennifer is graduating from Gateway High School and will be recognized as part of Gateway's "Top Ten". In the fall she will attend California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California. She plans to major in environmental science with a minor in foreign language, and eventually attend law school. Jennifer is a Confirmation "Guide" at All Saints Lutheran Church, where she works with middle school students. She is actively involved in Gateway's National Honor Society Chapter, of which she is the secretary. She was science club president and a tutor in Mu Alpha Theta, honors math club. Jennifer is an eight-time academic honor roll recipient and academic letterman. She is also a letterman in Varsity Swimming, Marching Band, Symphonic Band, and Percussion Ensemble. Jennifer loves traveling, skiing, reading, and line dancing. [ Back to top ]
Connecticut Michael is currently a sophomore at Fairfield College Prepatory School in Fairfield, Connecticut. He resides with his parents, brother and sister in Monroe, CT. Michael is on the Junior Varsity Track team, is a member of the Cardinal Key Club, and also on the Chaplain's Council at school. He is a member of the yearbook staff and has earned the distinction of Summa Cum Laude in the honors program. Michael has been an alter server for seven years at St. Jude Parish in Monroe and an assistant basketball coach for the Junior Varsity girls team at St. Jude School. Michael is employed on the weekends as a dishwasher and prepares food for the Sodexho Corporation. Upon completion of high school he plans to attend college in the Boston area and study pre-medicine. District of Columbia Olaronke is a graduating senior who lives and attends school in Washington, DC. After high school she plans to attend Temple University. She was the captain of the school's basketball team for the last two years. Olaronke is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Math Honor Society. She received Maxima Cum Laude on the National Latin exam. In addition to her school activities, Olaronke volunteers at Nativity Catholic Academy mentoring young children. She also attends Jesus House in DC and is a part of Caleb's Crew, the teen church group. Her brother won the National Peace Essay Contest award in 2002. [ Back to top ]

Florida Julie is a junior in the International Baccalaureate program at King High School in Tampa, Florida. She has played the violin for twelve years, and is very active in her school orchestra. She was recently honored with the Master Musician award. Julie also played for a year in the Tampa Bay Youth Orchestra. She is an active member of the National Honor Society and was recently elected treasurer of the French Honor Society. In 2004 Julie co-organized a marathon in downtown Tampa that raised nearly $2000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. In April 2005 she organized a second marathon for the same charity. Every summer, for the last four years, Julie has worked as a junior counselor at a Girl Scout day camp helping Brownie Girl Scouts earn their badges. She hopes to study international relations and Central European affairs, with a possible focus on international finance when she attends college in the fall of 2006. [ Back to top ]
Georgia Nakul lives in Evans, Georgia. His awards include honor graduate of Lakeside High School, region STAR student for highest SAT score, National Merit Finalist, and AP Scholar with Honors. Nakul is captain of the Policy Debate team and the Science Olympiad Team. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Literary Team, Math Team, Mu Alpha Theta, Junior Classical League, and Flair Foreign Language Honor Society. Nakul also tutors inner-city children, works at a local soup kitchen, washes cars for charity, works with school drug and alcohol awareness programs, and coordinates a local library summer reading program, among many others. He is vice president of the National Beta Club. And is an officer in Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) and the Interact Club. Nakul is also a member of Hindu Temple Youth Group. His future plans include attending Vanderbilt University in the fall and is considering majors in areas of pre-law, pre-medicine, and English. [ Back to top ]
Hawaii George is from Kailua, Hawaii. He has worked on many student public service initiatives at the Luke Center for Public Service at Punahou School. As co-president of the Punahou branch of Young Leaders Service Organization, he has organized large-scale beach clean ups, park beautifications, and charitable fundraisers. George is a bookworm at his community library where he has taught disadvantaged kindergarteners. He has also served as secretary for the Hawaii State Secondary Student Conference, a student government organization that generates student formulated resolutions that are sent to Hawaii's State Board of Education and Legislature. George is the founder and chairman of Young Democrats at his school. The organization's activities include working on national elections, holding awareness debates with Young Republicans, conducting a book drive, and creating an online blog. [ Back to top ]
Illinois Kelly is from Belleville, Illinois, and attends Belleville East High School. Her college plans include attending Hendrix College and majoring in biology and psychology. She has always loved too many activities to settle on any single one. Currently, she is involved with the school newspaper, Math Team, Mu Alpha Theta, and National Honor Society. Kelly's most defining passion is her love for the outdoors. Her outdoors experiences have not only made her stronger, but have also humbled and awed her. Kelly has seen the first light of dawn through frost-covered eyelashes, sat sheltered under the protective arms of a 200-foot pine tree, and known that her existence is insignificant in the vastness of the wilderness. These moments have taught her that there are few things in life that are truly important, but that those few things are truly, very important. [ Back to top ]

Indiana Melissa currently lives in Hobart, Indiana and attends Andrean High School where she is involved in track, cross country, and several academic teams. She also participates in band, Latin Club, and SADD. Because of her strong interest in math and science, she plans to enter the field of engineering. Staying active in her community is very important to her. She is currently a lector for her parish and does volunteer work there as well. Melissa has a strong interest in geography and history, as well as classical music and foreign cultures. She hopes to further her knowledge in these subject areas. [ Back to top ]
Iowa Benjamin calls the haven of Ames, Iowa home, where he also has the opportunity to attend the conveniently named Ames High School, as a senior. Benjamin is the News Editor of the school newspaper The WEB, as well as the editor-in-chief of the yearbook and leader of Model United Nations. In the future, he plans to attend Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, where he hopes to major in history, international relations, and/or espresso studies. This summer, Benjamin will be traveling to South America where he will work on a Democrat's campaign for governor. In his free time, Benjamin works at the local newspaper, plays music at a freeform radio station, and watches European sports. He also enjoys traveling, reading certain periodicals and books, spending time with friends and family, urban spelunking, and sorting out platforms for his 2028 run for president. [ Back to top ]
Kansas Kyle lives in Overland Park, Kansas, which is a suburb of Kansas City. During high school, he was involved with debate, theater, music, student government, the International Relations Council, Heart to Heart International, and received the Presidential Service Award for volunteering more than 100 hours at a retirement community. Tyler is a two-time debate national qualifier and Congressional semi-finalist at the forensics national tournament. He was selected as a Kansas Honor Scholar for academic excellence and has maintained a 4.0 non-weighted grade point average through his high school career. Next fall, he plans to enter the University of Kansas and co-major in political science and vocal performance. After graduating from college, he hopes to obtain a graduate degree and pursue a career in public service and/or humanitarian aid. [ Back to top ]
Kentucky Meghan is a junior at Notre Dame Academy and a proud resident of Edgewood, Kentucky. She is the middle child of a family of seven. Academics and athletics have both been a key part of her high school experience. She has varsity-lettered and received academic all-state honors in cross-country and tennis all three years and currently maintains a 4.1 GPA. Faith and service also play a predominant role in her life and she currently volunteers at Cathedral Child Development Center. Though she is undecided about her career path, she plans to attend college after graduating high school. Writing the National Peace Essay has motivated Meghan to use her talents toward achieving peace in the world. [ Back to top ]
Louisiana Elizabeth is a graduating senior at DeRidder High School in DeRidder, Louisiana, a small town in West Central Louisiana. She is active in various school organizations such as Interact, Beta, and Spanish Club. She has participated in both district and state level Literary Rally competitions, placing in English I, Spelling, Biology at the district level, and in English IV at both the district and state levels. Elizabeth is an integral member of both the Symphonic and Jazz bands in her school; she has been the clarinet section leader for four years and the Jazz band pianist for three. In her spare time, she likes to read, write, sketch, play piano and listen to music. After graduation, Elizabeth plans to attend the Louisiana State University Honors College and major in pre-medicine.*
