Day 2
Students are welcomed by Institute staff and participate in a Sudan simulation.

Day 3
U.S. Institute of Peace president Richard H. Solomon welcomes the essay contest winners to Washington and students attend special briefings on the current conflict in the Sudan with policy experts.

 

image Tuesday, June 22, 2004
Day 4
Steven Wondu, SPLM Representative, and His Excellency Khidir Haroun Ahmed, Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan, meet with students to discuss the post-conflict reconstruction process in Sudan. Students then continue the Sudan simulation.

 

image Wednesday, June 23, 2004
Day 5
U.S. senators, representatives, and staff meet with students on Capitol Hill. At the end of the day, students attend the Awards Banquet.
