On Monday, June 24 the Institute broadcast several hours of the National Peace Essay Contest Awards Program live--including presentations by invited speakers as well as informal discussions and activities with the students. For those unable to watch the webcast live, links to archived video (as both streaming video and low bandwith downloads) from several highlights of the day have been placed below. After a briefing by Political Counselor Masood Khan from the Embassy of Pakistan, the students were led in a discussion reflecting on the issues raised during the briefing by Education Program Officer Allan Tidwell.

Following lunch at the Institute, the students were led in an interactive exercise by Education Program Officer Jeff Helsing designed to explore issues of cooperation, competition, and negotiating strategies.

Wrapping up their day at the Institute, the students were joined by Institute President Richard H. Solomon. After his remarks and an overview of the Institute's history, Solomon participated in a question and answer session with the students.
