Theater* and Film

As a theater in-the-round, this space will convey an enveloping and inviting atmosphere while simultaneously signaling a journey into unknown territory. Visitors will be immersed in the experience of the film.

The scene-setting film will introduce the idea that human conflict has ancient roots, and it will highlight the changing forms of violence spurred by technological advances in weaponry. It will explore the conditions that fuel conflicts today, as well as the resulting costs in terms of lives lost, human suffering, and resources expended.

The audience will then learn the other, hopeful side of the story: that society has and must continue to develop non-violent means of addressing conflict. The film will introduce the work of the Institute and the tools, techniques and institutions of peacebuilding. Visitors will learn that peacebuilding is both an art and a science.

*In recognition of the generous support of the Chevron Corporation, the PEC theater has been named the Chevron Theater.
